It seems that everyone is on Facebook these days, including those people who are looking to market their business.  You can set up a profile, a fan page, and many other things within your Facebook profile.  Following is some Facebook marketing tips to help you with your efforts.

Updates – :

Just like anything else in social media, you have to keep current with your profile.   Facebook moves fast, and you can be quickly forgotten.  Make sure to be putting up status updates, wall posts, or whatever it takes to keep your name showing up on other people’s pages.

Free Advertising –:

You can create a fan page, and use it for free marketing.  This can be in addition to a regular page, or by itself.  You can put up a poster, and then create an event, and invite all your friends to attend!  It can be an easy and free way to get the word out to lots of people.

Information – :

Facebook marketing is a great way to get information out there about your product, especially if you have the right people in your friends list.  Another great feature, to get even more information out there, if you have a blog or other marketing items out there, you can set them up to post directly to your profile about new information, creating more traffic and awareness.

Target Audiences – :

You can search for people just about any way you want to through Facebook – Age, Location, schools attended, plus more.  Depending on the product you are marketing, will determine the qualities you are looking for.  When you are adding people to your profile, tell them a bit about yourself, so they will want to connect with you.

Get Involved – :

Just like any other social media out there, to get the most out of Facebook marketing, you need to be involved.  Post to your friend pages when they say something you can respond to, it doesn’t need to be related to your product, as you want to build a relationship.  For instance, if they say that they hate the weather, you can empathize with them.

Feedback – :

Due to the interactive quality of Facebook, you can ask your followers what they think of your product, offer reviews, etc.  Maybe you want to offer a discount code at your shopping cart just for Facebook followers if they complete a survey, post the offer, and you’ll find that people will complete the survey for the code.  If you are lucky, they will forward it to friends too.
